I’m mad at the world,
That I have to work so hard,
While others are fed with silver spoons.
I’m mad at the world,
That there are kids without food,
While others waste more than they eat.
I’m mad at the world,
That people don’t have homes,
While some have rooms they’ll never fill.
I’m mad at the world,
That violence happens,
But no one stops to listen.
I’m mad at the world,
Because we over-consume,
And no one cares
That we’re destroying the only place we call home.
I’m mad at the world,
That spends more on war
Than on education.
I’m mad at the world
That we’ve let greed become a goal,
And compassion a weakness.
Where we close our eyes to suffering,
Believing it doesn’t affect us.
But it does.
And one day, we’ll wake up to find
That the world we destroyed
Is the only one we had.
